1. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. Even more importantly, research what you've been told. Of course, always do so respectfully. Keep in mind from the outset that most products will not meet the quality standards you are looking for.

2. Ask to visit the seller's workshop so they can show you the creation process.

3. Hire an impartial and trustworthy expert who can verify the quality of the product.

4. Fire quality check method: directly burn some threads of the product you are interested in. Then, roll the burnt threads between your fingers and smell them. If it smells like plastic, you will know that it is NOT a high-end product.

5. Water quality check method: a little water can cause a cheap wool hat to lose its shape quickly. The longer a hat has been compacted in the creation process, the more water-resistant it will be. Remember: you get what you pay for.

6. Quality check method using sunlight: Hold the hat up to the light and try to look through it from the bottom. You may be able to see thin spots where the light shines through the inside. If true, you have found a cheaper quality hat.

7. Quality check method of the “hood”: The hood is the conical shaped form before the final molding process. If you have the opportunity to see it, look carefully at the fibers. If you notice a mixture of shiny and dull strands, you will know that it is a low-quality product (shiny = synthetic).
